Tomato by Christopher Trotter



The red tomato was brought from Mexico to Italy and by the 1700s was well established in Neapolitan cuisine. Tomatoes are an excellent source of Vitamin C and biotin of Vitamin B6 and B7. They also have molybdenum, copper, potassium and manganese,Vitamin E and Vitamin K which is good for helping the blood to clot and strengthen bones. In fact, tomatoes are up there with kale for its range of nutritional benefits.
